Danny Carey’s Home Hi-Fi System
The EgglestonWorks Ivy Signature speaker is an enormous floor standing speaker equipped with a 1-inch cloth dome tweeter, twelve 6-inch midbass drivers, and six 12-inch woofers. Some of the drivers are located inside the cabinet and are not visible in the photos. Each speaker stands 76 inches tall and weighs 600 pounds! At the top of the Hi-Fi cabinet, you can see Danny has been listening to Kraftwerk’s album “3-D The Catalogue” which is a live album by the German electronic music band. Released in 2017, this album is a comprehensive collection of live versions of every studio album song from Kraftwerk’s discography, spanning from “Autobahn” (1974) to “Tour de France Soundtracks” (2003). Just below the album is a Marantz TT-15S1 turntable which is belt driven and features a chassis and platter made from dense glass acrylic composite. Click here to visit the Marantz website.
Holding up the turntable is an ARCAN CD player; we think it could be the model CD37 which uses Wolfson 8741 Digital-to-Analog Converters. Click here to visit the ARCAM website.
Underneath the CD player is a VTL TL-75 preamplifier which employs a “clean box/dirty box” architecture to minimize noise and distortion in the audio path.
Finally, sitting on the floor next to Danny is a VTL Siegfried monoblock power amplifier, a high power tube-based amplifier renowned for its musicality, ease of use, and robust design. Click here to visit the VTL website.
