Lee DeForest’s original triode, the Audion, was a vacuum sealed glass tube. It contained a heated filament (cathode), a metal plate (anode), and, crucially, a zigzag wire grid. A small signal on the grid controlled a much larger current flowing from filament to plate, making it the world’s first electronic amplifier. It’s the original ancestor of every amplifier ever made!
Here’s a t-shirt adorned with a simple drawing of that original DeForest Triode. Wear it and show the world you know where vintage technology meets modern style, a tribute to the golden age of electronics.
The 100% cotton unisex classic tee will help you land a more structured look. It sits nicely, maintains sharp lines around the edges, and goes perfectly with layered streetwear outfits. Plus, it’s extra trendy now!
